Department Description:

The Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer in the County. The Sheriff's Office provides services to 14 townships and 9 cities that cover 467 square miles and has a current population of approximately 27,400 people. In addition to traditional patrol and investigative duties, the Criminal Investigation Unit also works as Drug Investigators. The department includes specialized units that serve and execute civil process, criminal warrants, transport prisoners, provide court security, communications, water patrol and recreational safety. The Adult Detention Division operates the Law Enforcement Center under the direct supervision concept, and has received nearly a 100% inspection rating from the Minnesota Department of Corrections for several years. The LeSueur County Sheriff's Office also provides the following services: TRT (Tactical Response Team), 1- K-9 Unit, Search & Rescue Dive Team, D.A.R.E. Program, Tip Program and a Mounted Posse. LeSueur County Sheriff's Deputies and staff are committed to making LeSueur County a safe place for you and your family to live and work. I am very proud of their efforts in arresting and incarcerating criminals, taking drunk drivers off the road and responding to emergencies.
