Three Types of Identification (ID)
Minnesota now offers three different types of driver’s licenses/identification cards that each have different capabilities and permissions. They are standard, enhanced, and REAL ID. For more information on each different type of license, please visit the Department of Public Safety website.
Applications for Enhanced or REAL IDs
Applications for Enhanced or REAL IDs will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 45 minutes prior to closing. All other types of transactions will be accepted from 8 to our normal closing time. Please consider using the State of Minnesota’s newest feature that allows you to pre-apply for your driver’s license or ID card before visiting your local license bureau.
