West Jefferson Sewer District Billing

UPDATE 10/1/2021 - The 2021 3rd quarter bill will be calculated soon and covers the months of July/August/September 2021. 

The Public Hearing for the Assessments was September 21, 2021 at 7 p.m. at the Justice Center. Everyone should have received their assessment information in the mail. Meeting information can be found here: https://www.co.le-sueur.mn.us/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_09212021-361?html=true

There are two separate assessments. One is for the construction costs and one is for the administrative costs that were not reimbursable from the state. 

The 1st assessment (Construction):  The assessments are payable over 10 years beginning in 2022. Prepayments can be made up to December 31, 2021 interest free. The interest rate is 2.25%. Le Sueur County will be filing a lien with the Recorders office for anyone that has not paid by November 30, 2021. 

The 2nd assessment (Administrative): This lien is payable over 2 years starting with taxes in 2022.  Prepayments can be made up to December 31, 2021 interest free. The interest rate is 2.25%. Le Sueur County will be filing a lien with the Recorders office for anyone that has not paid by November 30, 2021. This lien runs separately from the other one.

The 2020 monthly sewer rate was $42.95/per month. The usage rate was $7.44 per 1,000 gallons.

The 2021 monthly sewer rate is $44.21/per month. The usage rate is $7.66 per 1,000 gallons.

The 2022 proposed monthly sewer rate is $45.50/per month. The usage rate is $7.89 per 1,000 gallons.

The 2023 proposed monthly sewer rate is $46.84/per month. The usage rate is $8.13 per 1,000 gallons.

The 2024 proposed monthly sewer rate is $48.22/per month. The usage rate is $8.37 per 1,000 gallons.
