Cannon River Watershed Joint Powers Organization Natural Shoreline Workshop

The Cannon River Watershed Joint Powers Organization is hosting a Natural Shoreline Workshop on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00am-11:00am.  The workshop will be held at Rays Lake Park which is located at 1395 1st Street N, Elysian, MN 56028.  

This event is part of a larger effort within the Cannon River Watershed and is included within the Cannon River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan.  To learn more about the Cannon River Watershed Joint Powers Organization and the Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan, please visit the following website:

2023 Shoreland Workshop

The Environmental Services Department hosted its second shoreland workshop.  There were two sessions for the training.  The first session was offered for contractors, excavators, developers, landscapers, engineers, homebuilders, designers, surveyors, and local government officials. The second session was offered to everyone!

Maintenance-Temporary & Permanent BMPS-MN DOT

Le Sueur County hosted a shoreland training in March of 2022 about three different topics located within Shoreland.  The training covered the following:

  • Impervious surface
  • Drainage
  • Retaining walls

The intent of the training was to be informative and provide detailed information about each of these three different topics.
