Lower Minnesota River East One Watershed One Plan

The Lower Minnesota River East One Watershed One Plan planning efforts are well underway.  The partnership anticipates the 60-Day formal review process for local and state agencies  to begin in early 2024. Following the 60-day review process, there will be a 90 day review period for the public to comment on.  Le Sueur County, Le Sueur Soil and Water Conservation District, Rice County, Rice Soil and Water Conservation District, Scott Soil and Water Conservation District, Scott County, Scott Watershed Management Organization, and the Lower Minnesota River Watershed District have all partnered together for planning efforts for the Lower Minnesota River East One Watershed One Plan.

The partnership has hired ISG Inc. to help assist with developing and writing the plan as well as facilitation efforts.

Lower Minnesota River East One Watershed One Plan Kickoff Meeting

The Lower Minnesota River East Partnership hosted two public kick off meetings for the Lower Minnesota River East One Watershed One Plan!  The purpose of the kickoff meeting is gather public input on issues and priorities within the watershed.  These priority issues and resources will help guide the Partnership on where to focus efforts for management, implementation activities, and education/outreach for the watershed.  

There was an in person and virtual option to participate.  We had a great turnout at our in person meeting!  A total of 53 individuals were present!
