DARE

DARE is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. DARE is funded solely through private donations from organizations throughout Le Sueur County. Deputy Jim Staupe is Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office Certified Dare Instructor. Deputy Staupe spends approximately 10-12 weeks in the classroom educating the 6th grade students from Cleveland, Le Center, Le Sueur, Montgomery, and Most Holy Redeemer Schools on the importance of DARE.

K9Jett-Joe

K9 Jett
2018- Present

Jett is Nationally Certified by the National Police Canine Association (NPCA). Jett is certified in the Detection of Narcotics in over five odors which include but not limited to: Methaphamine, Crack/Cocaine, Herion, and Marijuana. In addition, Jett is certified as a Level 2 Patrol Dog (PD2), Level 2 is the highest level awarded in the NPCA for the Patrol Dog Certification. Patrol Sergeant Joe Kern and K9 Jett also became Nationally Certified in Tracking.

River Valley Tactical Response Team

In 2009 Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office became members of the River Valley Tactical Response Team. The RVTT is made up of Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office, Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office, Nicollet County Sheriff's Office, Mankato Department of Public Safety, North Mankato Police Department, and St. Peter Police Department
