Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control

Erosion is defined as any process that removes soil away from the surface of the land by the action of water, wind, or gravity.  Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control minimizes, prevents, and limits the amount of disturbance that occurs from exposed soils.  Minnesota State Statue and the Le Sueur County Zoning Ordinance require that erosion prevention and sediment control measures must be installed prior to starting a project in order to reduce the risk of stormwater runoff and pollution of surface waters.
