Ney Nature Center

Ney Nature Center is a 446 acre park that is owned by Le Sueur County Parks and operated by the non-profit Ney Nature Center Board of Directors. Please visit Ney Nature Center website for more information on Ney Nature Center, their current programs, and up to date information regarding the park.

History of the Land
In 1990, Ruby Ney donated her families farm and land to Le Sueur County and established the Ney Nature Preserve, whose focus included turning the farmland back into its natural state. All of Ruby Ney's farmland has been seeded into native hardwoods and prairies. Two original homesteads occupy the land, the Ney Farm and Kahlow Farm. The Ney Nature Center features historic farm buildings including:

  • Milking Barn

  • Summer Kitchen

The Ney Nature Center staff currently provides a wide range of youth, adult, and family programming within the park. Depending on the time of year, programming offered can include:

There are several miles of trails within the park that covers varying levels of terrain. For your convenience, there is a summer trail map (PDF) that highlights all of our hiking trails, a winter trail map (PDF) that includes snowshoe and cross country ski trails, and a mountain bike map.
